Making a first impression

I'd like some tips from some of the ladies. When a lady first arrives at my apartment, or hotel room, what are the things you especially like from a gentleman who wants to make a good impression and set the tone for a loving, intimate experience? Offer a drink? If so, what kind (alcohol, water, juice, carbonated, etc.). Start with a hug, or handshake? Have a small gift - if so, what are some suggestions?

The first moments are always a little awkward, since we don't know each other. I'm wondering what is the best way to put both of us at ease, and creating an impression that will let the lady know that I am equally interested in her enjoyment as much as my own.

I can only tell you what women sometimes say to me on the subject.

Just behave in a friendly and normal manner. Do not start hugging or groping her right away; you can shake her hand and introduce yourself with a first name of your choice.

Then say in a friendly, clear and distinct manner what you would like to do in the next hour and look her in the eyes while doing so; this will be greatly appreciated by the ladies.

You can give her the money directly or place it on a table; there is no need to make a show of it.
